Educational opportunities with MSLETB for those up-skilling, returning to work or unemployed

 

Josephine McGread of  Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim Education and Training Board outlines the educational opportunities that are available for those who are currently unemployed; those who want to upskill or those who want to return to the workforce after a period of other duties.

Josephine is a qualified Guidance Counsellor, is the Co-ordinator in MSLETB Adult Guidance service in Sligo. In the interview she goes through the educational services that MSLETB provides. While there are many challenges facing those who are trying to rejoin the workforce MSLETB seeks to provide a range of courses that provide the skills that are required in today’s workplace.

MSLETB Adult Guidance service seeks to find out what you want to do and how to provide you with the educational supports to make that possible. Whether it is a part-time course or full time there is wide range of courses available.

If you are unemployed, parenting alone or have a disability and are getting certain  payments from  Department of Social (DSP) , you make take  part in a second-or third-level education and get the Back to Education Allowance (BTEA).
