Mayo College of Further Education and Training is now accepting course applications for September 2021. There are 34 courses on offer in our Castlebar and Westport Campuses. There are paid Erasmus+ opportunities to work abroad available for students on all courses. The college offers professional career guidance and a range of student clubs and societies.  There are loan laptops available for students and free Office 365 and Adobe software. MSLETB Sligo/Leitrim Arts Education Grant Scheme 2021 Open for Applications

The MSLETB Sligo-Leitrim Arts Grant Scheme offers support to educational initiatives that encourage and develop an appreciation, understanding or practice of the arts in the context of providing opportunities in arts education directed at adults.

Applications are invited from voluntary and professional arts groups or individual arts practitioners for funding towards workshops, events, projects, exhibitions or productions in counties Sligo and Leitrim, with clearly defined arts education benefit.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday the 22nd April 2021.

Self Help Africa & BT Young Scientist Showcase Event 2021

The experience of entering the BT Young Scientist competition rarely ends with the event for our students in Mohill Community College and this year was no different. Caolan O’Riordain, TY, caught the attention of a leading international charity at the virtual event this year, with his project on the reusing of grey water to grow plants. Self Help Africa, an organisation working with small communities in Africa to introduce sustainable, resourceful energy and farming techniques invited Caolan, along with a select group of other students from schools around the country, to a virtual showcase event in Iveagh House to display and discuss their Young Scientist projects. In another year, this would have been a wonderful day out to the capital, however the online presentation was a welcome recognition of the hard work each student puts in to Young Scientist………….
