On Friday, the 7th of March 2025 at 8:00pm in The Mayflower, Drumshanbo. The concert will raise money for two charities – the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and North West Hospice.

The Drumshanbo Traditional Irish Music course was established in 1997 building on the success of the annual Joe Mooney summer school and is one of the only courses of its kind in the country, attracting students from all over the country and further afield (there have been students from North America, the UK, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Australia and Austria). It provides an introduction to the world of traditional Irish music, song and dance to adults of all ages, all instruments and all abilities including complete beginners. We play music every day and when the modules are completed, students receive a Level 5 QQI Music Award. Supported and administered by the MSLETB (Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board), the course is now part of the recently formed Leitrim College of Further Education and Training which also provides QQI courses in Business Administration, Tourism and Ecotourism, Food Science, Health & Nutrition, Equine Studies, Sports & Leisure Management with Outdoor Activities, Healthcare Service Skills, Music, and Digital Entrepreneurship with AI.
