Mayo College of Further Education & Training proudly celebrated the achievements of its graduating students at a special ceremony on Friday, November 7th, with Minister of State at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Marian Harkin, presenting awards to this year’s graduates.
The Class of 2025, comprising approximately 600 students, represents a wide spectrum of disciplines across more than 62 full-time courses, including Motor Technology, Beauty, Agriculture, Hairdressing, Social Studies, Nursing, Disability Studies, Law, and Animation, among many others. This diversity reflects Mayo College’s ongoing commitment to providing accessible, high-quality educational pathways that equip learners with the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in a variety of industries.
Michael Murphy, Principal of Mayo College of Further Education & Training, commended the graduates for their dedication and perseverance, remarking:
“As you step into the next chapter of your journey, remember that the knowledge, values, and experiences you’ve gained at Mayo College will guide you. Tom Grady, Chief Executive of Mayo, Sligo & Leitrim Education & Training Board (MSLETB), also extended his congratulations, stating:
“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of our graduates. You have worked tirelessly to reach this milestone and today is a celebration of all that you’ve achieved. On behalf of MSLETB, I wish you the very best in both your professional and personal journeys ahead.”
This event marks a pivotal moment for Mayo College as it continues its mission, in partnership with MSLETB, to expand educational opportunities for the local community and surrounding regions. With a commitment to excellence and continued support from MSLETB, Mayo College aims to offer even greater opportunities for future learners, ensuring a bright future for further education in Mayo.
The graduation ceremony was attended by students, their families, and dignitaries from across the region, who joined together to celebrate the hard work and achievements of the class of 2025.
