Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB) has launched its Strategy Statement setting out their core values, mission and strategic goals for 2023-2027. It has been developed following a wide-ranging consultation process and takes into account key policy, strategy and legislation at local, national and European level.
Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB) is the driving force behind the provision of educational and training services across the three counties with 16,724 learners registered in 2022.
Over 1,500 fully qualified and experienced staff members are employed by MSLETB to deliver these flexible learning services in 17 schools, 12 Further Education and Training Centres, five Youthreach centres and two Training Centres across Mayo, Sligo, and Leitrim.
A number of core values have been developed to support all stakeholders across region while recognising the varying requirements of each. These values are (i) Quality (ii) Professionalism (iii) Collaborative (iv) Proactivity and (v) Inclusivity.
All the innovative education and training programmes offered are specifically designed to help learners fulfil their individual potential while also meeting the ever-changing demands of Ireland’s social and economic environment.
The Strategy Statement sets out several strategic goals outlined under 5 principal areas. These areas include: (I) Teaching and Learning (ii) Development and Innovation (iii) Learning Environment and Digital Enablement (iv) Communication and Engagement and (v) Culture and Organisation.
Speaking about the launch of the new Strategy, MSLETB Chairperson, Cllr Mary Bohan said,
“This Strategy Statement is built on the long tradition of innovation and responsiveness to the needs of learners and communities across the counties of Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim. I believe this strategy will shape and guide our organisation as we continue to provide innovative and high-quality education and training services.”
MSLETB’s vision is
‘to be an innovative and dynamic ETB providing a positive and inclusive experience for all our learners, within a professional, caring and collaborative education and training environment.’
MSLETB, Chief Executive Tom Grady said that the Strategy Statement will present the strategic direction of the organisation over the next five years
