Music Generation Sligo’s Sligo Youth Voices Choir performed at the national ‘Beyond Limits’ event on Saturday on the main stage in the Knocknarea arena at Sligo’s ATU.
The aim of the ‘Beyond Limits’ event is to empower young people and children with disabilities by showing them the opportunities open to them, talking about the issues that they face and to highlight inclusiveness.
Beyond Limits is a festival-style which included speakers, activities, workshops, and performances. The GAA, IRFU, FAI and Gymnastics Ireland were all in attendance showing children how they can get involved in sport in their communities. There was also a silent disco, sensory stories, arts and crafts, and yoga and mindfulness activities.
Music Generation Sligo showcased their musical talents and the event by offering children and young people at the event to join into some of their music workshops ran by their professional music educators. Attendees also had the opportunity to try out the fantastic array of instruments that were available to play at the day.
