Davitt College, Castlebar, students have been selected from all the schools throughout the country to represent Ireland at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The International trip took place between 28th-31st January 2020.
The students were part of the Irish delegation representing The Graduate Programme, a Government, Local Government and EU Funded Citizenship & Democracy Programme for Second Level Students in Ireland. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to take part in and learn about important Local and National topics. They spent one full day at the European Parliament in Strasbourg where they took part in a youth parliament (Euroscola) with students from across EU member states. They were given an opportunity to research and discuss topics relevant to their future lives.
Ms. Bernie Rowland, Principal, Davitt College said “I would like to congratulate our wonderful students on being selected for this trip and I believe it allows young people from all over Europe a chance to see first-hand the workings of the European Parliament and to engage with their peers from different countries and cultures.”
