Active* Consent
Active* Consent is a programme developed from the University of Galway’s strong tradition of research and community engagement. Since 2013, they have been addressing societal issues such as consent, sexual violence, and harassment by researching young people’s sexual experiences and attitudes towards consent.
Using this data, Active* Consent has created a variety of educational and training resources. These include workshops, eLearning modules, educational videos, original dramas, and social media campaigns, all aimed at colleges, schools, and sports organisations.
The programme emphasises that the most effective consent education supports young people’s sexual health and agency. It is delivered through a sex-positive lens that respects individuals’ choices, whether or not they decide to become sexually active.
