Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB) proudly congratulates Abbie Soulter, a Year 2 Sales Apprentice employed by O’Sullivan Safety, who was awarded the Bronze Medal at the prestigious WorldSkills China Retail Sales Competition in Guangzhou last week.

This international recognition marks a significant achievement for both Abbie and the Sales Apprenticeship programme. Abbie’s exceptional performance in the inaugural competition reflects her personal commitment to excellence and the strong support and mentoring provided by her employer, particularly workplace mentor Helen Moran.

Jessica Martin, National Programme Manager for the Sales Apprenticeship at MSLETB, praised Abbie’s success, noting:

“This achievement shines a spotlight on the calibre of our apprentices and the value of work-based learning. Abbie’s performance demonstrates the global potential of our programmes and highlights the outstanding training and mentorship offered by employers like O’Sullivan Safety.”

The Sales Apprenticeship, a government-funded programme coordinated nationally by MSLETB, is the first of its kind in Ireland. This two-year, Level 6 QQI-accredited programme blends academic study with hands-on experience in professional sales environments. Apprentices earn while they learn, gaining real-world skills that prepare them for long-term careers in sales, leadership and customer engagement.

Abbie’s win was a proud moment for Team MSLETB and provided a fitting finale to MSLETB Apprenticeship Week, showcasing how Irish apprentices are now making their mark on the global stage.
