Self Evaluation, Monitoring and Review
All programmes offered by MSLETB centres are reviewed on completion. Feedback is sought from learners and staff on assessment loads, assessment methods, programme resources and programme delivery. An end of programme review also provides the opportunity to evaluate the continued relevance of programme module options and often results in two different types of recommendations:
- Recommendations that are the responsibility of the centre to action e.g., extra resources required for delivery.
- Recommendations that are the responsibility of the Quality Assurance unit.
Currently, courses are reviewed at centre-level with mid-course and end-of-course evaluations. This approach allows issues and or risks to be anticipated/identified quickly and acted upon with the provision of additional supports and resources, as the need arise. MSLETB is committed to gathering and reviewing information related to FET provision. As part of this process, the organisation will actively seek and consider learner feedback. MSLETB will address any areas of underperformance identified during these reviews.
Internal Verification processes provide an opportunity to monitor the assessment processes for completeness and accuracy. The EA process provides opportunities for the monitoring of assessment against award standards and the National Framework of Qualifications. The RAP process reviews learner achievement across the provision and sets out recommendations for centres and learner results are ratified.
Additionally, MSLETB will conduct formal self-evaluations of its services and provision in a genuine and rigorous manner. The resulting reports will be published and made accessible to the public where appropriate. These self-evaluations will guide the organisation’s planning and improvement efforts.
